CHINESE EVACUATION.
REVIEW OF FIVE YEARS’ WAR. ENEMY LOSSES DECLARED. (Roc. 1.35.) CHUNGKING, July 7. The High Command announced that the Chinese have evacuated Heng-feng, in Eastern Kiangsi, the last city on the vital Chekiang - Kiangsi railway. An Army spokesman declared that the Japanese losses in the live years of the China war, in which 14 major engagements alid over 10,000 minor engagements were fought, wen* ] ,000.000 dead, 1,500,000 wounded and 20,924 taken prisoner. while 2504 planes were destroyed. The Chinese captured 1081 artillery pieces, 9576 machine-guns, 192.429 rifles and 8841 tanks, lorries and automobiles.
