The Rev. R. MeL. Gourdie, Anglican Chaplain io the Forces, is visiting Ashburton for a few days. Misses P. Harper (Westerfield), King (Ruapuna), N. Wright (Winehmore), and Mesdames R. Hillier and L. Slierbourne (Ashburton) will report for duty ns voluntary aids at Burwood Military 'Hospital. Mr E. P. Kellaher, accountant at the Hamilton branch of the National Bank of New Zealand, has been transferred, as manager, to the Ashburton branch in place of Mr R. B. Lambert, who will retire at the end of April. A motion of sympathy witli the relatives of the late Staff-Sergeant S. V. Johnston was carried at the meeting of the Ashburton Volunteer Fire Brigade last evening. Staff-Sergeant Johnston was a member (»f the brigade.
