CONTINUED IN THE DESERT. REOCCUPATION OF JEDABYA STRONG COVER PROM THE AIR. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Rec. 10.10 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 28. A communique issued by headquarters at Cairo states: “Early yesterday morning enemy columns which moved eastwards from an area south of Mersa 'Brega on the previous day continued their forward movement, strongly covered by German and Italian bombers, with fighter protection. By evening our light forces had withdrawn east of Jedabya, which the enemy reoccupied. During the course of the day’s operations our air forces and artillery were presented with a number of good targets. In particular two concentrations of enemy mechanical transport in the area south-west of Jedabya were heavily and successfully bombed and machine-gunned. The concentration of motorised units in Libya which the Royal Air Force bombed comprised 400 vehicles, which an observer stated were packed like sardines.
