PARROT COPY OF GERMAN. AMERICAN OFFICER’S OPINION. (Rec. 10.0) WASHINGTON', Jan. 20. Lieutenant John Scofield, writing in a semi-official infantry journal described the Japanese weapons as “almost a parrot copy of the Fuhrer's hordes.” He said that man for man the Japanese fighters are probably as efficient as the average in Europe. “The Army is well fed, cleanly uniformed, ' and about as completely equipped as that of any belligerent today,” said the writer. ‘‘Mud) of its material is old-fashioned and of conservative design, but what it lacks in improvement is balanced by plentiful quantities.”
