THE AUSTRALIAN SYSTEM. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Rec. 12.30) MELBOURNE, This Day. Mr W. C. Wurth has been appointed Director-General of Manpower in the Federal Government’s new system of industrial control, which involves regimentation for industry. Mr Wurth is at present chairman of the New South Wales Public Service Board, and Federal (Director of Manpower priorities. lOne of his first duties will be the compilation of a new national register. This will probably embrace the services as well as the civilian population, and will include persons of independent means who are not doing war work.
