PATRIOTIC APPEAL.
CIRCULARS DISTRIBUTED TO-DAY Final arrangements for the launching of the 1942 patriotic appeal, in which Ashburton’s quota, is £7OOO, were made when the Ashburton Patriotic Committee met last evening, the chairman (Mr A. H. Todd) presiding. Others present were Messrs C. H. Amos (secretary), IV. R. M. Stewart, H. G. Ferrier, F. Jeavons, N. Gallop and W. H. Barney. It was stated that the circulars asking residents to give regular donations to the fund would be distributed tc-dav by Girl Guides and Boy Scouts. The allocation of districts to collec tors was discussed. Mr Ferrier stated that about 36 would be required to cover the town, 15 being still required.
