THE WEATHER.
SUN SHINES BRIGHTLY. The sun shone brightly to-day, but a south-easterly breeze prevented the atmosphere from becoming very warm. Temperatures remained compare - tively low for this time of the ye&r, the maximum and minimum readings yesterday being 66 and 49 degrees, compared with 64.4 and 43.8 degrees on Tuesday. The barometer to-day stood at 20.89 inches, compared with 30.04 inches yesterday. TO-DAY ! 9 FORECAST. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: Moderate easterly to northerly winds predominating. Weather cloudy, with scattered drizzle on the coast, mainly fair inland. Moderate temperatures. Further outlook: Mainly fair.
