REMAND GRANTED.
ALLEGED THEFT OF PETROL. Charged with having stolen seveneighths of a gallon of petrol, valued at 2s 4d, the property of Mid-Canterbury Transport, early this morning, a man appeared before Mr G. Kelly, J.P., in the Ashburton Court this morning. Senipr-Sergeant Cleary asked that accused be remanded until to-morrow morning, so that further inquiries could be made. This was granted. Accused was granted bail on his own recognisance of £25 and his own surety of £25.
