SIXTY-EIGHT AXIS VESSELS.
TWO MONTHS IN MEDITERRANEAN. LONDON, Nov. 28. * * The rate of destruction of Axis ship - ping by the Mediterranean Fleeb in the last'two months has been kept, at the high- level maintained: during August and September. An analysis in an Admiralty communique • shows that 68 ships cf all kinds have been sunk or damaged from October 1 to November 28, compared with 7i’in the previous two months. • 11l reference to the Axis claims that they have sunk or damaged the Malaya —which seems to have taken the place of the celebrated Ark Royal in the enemy’s imagination—it is officially stated that the Malaya is quite safe ami sound. Neither is the Axis claim that they have accounted for three British submarines confirmed in- official quarters. The cruiser Manchester is undergoing’repairs in the United States.— British Official Wireless.
