WARM CONDITIONS TO-DAY Very warm conditions prevailed in Ashburton yesterday and to-day, ni spite of the sky being overcast for the most part. A south-east wind blew this afternoon. The maximum temperatures on Saturday and yesterday were 57.8 and bb-Z decrees respectively, the minimum or those days being 33.5 and 44 degrees. To-day the barometer measured l J.o< inches, compared with 29.63 inches yesterday. There was a frost of 6.3 degrees (ground reading) yesterday morning. The Month in Ashburton. The hottest day in Ashburton during November was on Thursday the 20th, when the thermometer rose to 78.3 degrees. This was lower than the previous month’s recording when the maximum temperature was 80 degiees. North-west winds were very frequent at times reaching gale force. Weather fair to line over the plains but rain in the Alps. Temperatures moderate near coast, warmer inland. Further outlook : Fresh north-west-erlies. Fine and warm.
