THE SCHEME FOR THE HINDS, INSPECTION BY THE MINISTER. With the object of ascertaining the extent of the work to be done under the proposal to clear the Hinds River watercourse, the Minister of Public Works (the Hon. H. T. Mr Armstrong, who will arrive at Ashburton at 10 o’clock in the morning, will be met on the several reaches of the river by the County Council riding members concerned, and by the farmers’ representatives who went to Wellington with the Council deputation some time ago to urge the necessity for the work.
