AUSTIN SETS A RECORD. * (P.A.) DUNEDIN,. October 19. In a special attempt yesterday to establish a New Zealand 15-mile record, G. L. Austin registered 84min 18 1-5 see, which was considerably better than the standard of STmin set by the New Zealand Council for the distance. Austin covered the distance in 85min 37 see last year, but the record was disallowed as he was the only competitor. Yesterday lie had several runners to accompany him.
