THE WEATHER.
A FINE WEEK-END Conditions in Ashburton over the week-end were fine, with cool breezes from the north and south-east. The sun shone for the greater part of the time and though the temperature did not rise very high neither did they fall very low. The maximum readings for Saturday and yesterday wore 34.7 and 58.8 degrees, while the readings in the night went to 40 and 48 dregees. The barometer stood at 20.03 inches yesterday morning and at 20.57 this morning. Cool in exposed positions to-day, the conditions wore bright and sunny generally. TO-DAY’S FORECAST, (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is ns follows: Moderate to fresh northerly winds. Weather cloudy on the coast, otherwise fair. Temperatures moderate to mild. Further outlook: Cool southerly change probable on Wednesday, with showers.
