OBTAINING SUPPLIES OF PETROL , / OFFENDER FINED SIX POUNDS. .(PA.) 'BLENHEIM, This Day. ’ ‘ Straight-out fraud, very near forgery, was the description applied bythe police prosecutor to the action of Stanley Leonard Schroder, a labourer, who pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to having purchased four gallons of petrol and of seeking to makesuch’ a purchase by means not in accord with the regulations. The police stated that defendant ad- ' opted a scheme of altering and defacing the figures on the coupons. He effected one purchase but the service station proprietor detected the ruse befoi’e the next purchase was attempted. “You committed a very serious offence, indeed. You are lucky not to be. charged with something more serious,” commented Mr Maunsell, S.M., in imposing a fine of £6.
