MEMBERS RETAINED.

THE ALLENTON SPORTS CLUB. PAST SEASON REVIEWED. “The membership of the various sections remained approximately the same as for the previous season, which was a record one, and considering the changed conditions' is very satisfying,” states the report presented at the annual meeting of the Allenton Sports Club last evening. The president (Mr H. N. Lewis) presided. It was stated that the membership of the bowling section was 59 (50 men and nine women), the croquet section 19, tennis section 35, and there were live honorary members.

“The balance sheet discloses a small but satisfactory credit of £4 7s 4d, ' continued the report. A patriotic day was held during the season and witli the card evening that followed the sum of £lO was raised. During the season card evenings were held in aid of the Red Cross, £2O being made. The Club benefited to the extent of £2O 7s lid from card evenings held in the winter. '

The report stated that the executive felt the time was not opportune to proceed with the laying clown of a t noway bowling green for women members, but the project would be proceeded with immediately the opportunity offered. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Air J. A. Walker; president. Mr H. N. Lewis; vice-presidents, Messrs ,T. H. Stevens and A. H. Todd; executive, Mosdames R. Turnbull amt J. H. Stevens (croquet), ’Messrs E. C. Bathurst and G. H. Rollinson bowling), two tennis representatives to be appointed; secretary, Mr N. ltobilliard; treasurer, 'Mr J. Gowans; auditor, Mr J. P. Boothroyd.

The annual reports of the various sections were received. One new member was elected.

At a meeting ‘of the executive Mr Bathurst was appointed greens’ supervisor in conjunction with Mr Lewis. It was decided to accept the vohintary labour of members of the club for the care of the bowling greens. The opening day was tentatively fixed for Saturday, October 11. It was reported that the new croquet lawn would bo available for play at the beginning of this season. It was also decided to erect a shelter at the tennis lawns for use of players of this sport.
