Messrs A. Orr and J. Simpson (departmental inspectors) visited the Ashburton Post Office to-day.
Mr J. IT. Stevens is at present a patient in the Ashburton Public Hospital, whore he will remain foi* the next throe or four weeks.
Messrs C. C. Osborne (Allenton), A. M. Penman (Ashburton) and 1. S. A. Stevenson (Ashburton) have passed the Air Force Preliminary Educational^ Examination held on July 14 and 1». H medically fit they will be posted to the ground training school at Levm within the next few weeks as airmen pilots, air observers or air gunners.
