TWO SHOTS FIRED.
BURGLARS DISTURBED. > (P.A.) AUCKLAND, August 4. Wakened in the early morning by the noise of breaking glass, Mr H. P. Lees, who sleeps above Lees Brothers’ garage at Papakura, Auckland, descended the stairs and saw two men seated in a motor-car. They ran aw r ay, Mr Lees firing a shot into the ground when they refused to stop. Mr Lees saw two other men leaving the garage. When challenged they jumped into a car and drove in the direction of Auckland. Mr Lees fired another shot, apparently puncturing the rear tyre. All police stations were notified, and a police car was dispatched from Auckland. It chased a car near Greenlane, and the police caught two youths, who will appear in the Children’s Court. The other suspects have not been caught. The glass panes in front of the double doors of the garage 'were broken.
