RUNANGA DOCTOR.

STEPS TAKEN TO FILL VACANCY. (Sp.) WELLINGTON, August 4. It is understood that the problem of providing- a resident doctor for Runanga has been under consideration for some time by the- Department of Health. Difficulty has been found in obtaining anyone for this position, but it is believed that there is a good chance of a doctor being made available by the time the notice of the- present resident medical men expires. Greymouth is considered well supplied with resident doctors and this may provide- a method of dealing with the Runanga difficulty.
