The weather was chilly and the sky overcast for most of the afternoon on Saturday at Riccarton, but the attend - ance at the Christchurch Hunt meeting was about the average. There was excitement about the finish of the Homeby Steeplechase. Ballybrit and Dozie Boy were fighting it out, with Slayer and Golden. Glow in, close attendance, when Dozie Boy or his rider collapsed, the horse falling a few yards from the winning post. The investments for the day amounted to £22,100, against £20,010 10s last year.
