THIRTY-SEVEN POINTS OF RAIN. Thirty-seven points of rain were recorded in Ashburton during the weekend. Conditions became'very overcast and cold on Saturday afternoon and rain commenced to fall during the night. The barometer read 29.91 inches this morning and 29.82 inches yesterday. RAINFALL AT STAVELEY Rain fell on eight days in July at Staveley. The total was 2.07 inches, compared with 6 days’ rain, totalling 52 points, for July last year.
