SCHOOL DAMAGED.
OUTBREAK OF FIRE AT BELFAST. (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, August 1. Damage amounting to £4O was caused by fire at the Belfast bchool this morning. , , _ The fire, started in the boiler room in the centre of a building which has not long been erected. The room is surrounded by concrete walls, but tne roof is; of wood. It is thought that a spark caught the roof, and started the fire. The roof, was well ablaze when the fire, was first noticed about 10 o’clock, and the pupils were immediately evacuated. About 100 children were marched out of the three classrooms in the building. , The children and the masters worked with buckets to quell the blaze and had it under control within 10 minutes. A machine from the St. Albans Fme Brigade then arrived and completed the work.
