PETROL RESTRICTIONS

PROTEST FROM MOTOR TRADE. TIMARU, August 1. A protest against the Government’s decision to impose a further restriction on the petrol allocation was made at the annual meeting of the South Canterbury branch of the N.Z. Retail Motor Trade Association last evening. The following resolution was unanimously carried: - “That a telegram be sent to the New Zealand Association headquarters at Wellington strongly protesting against the cut in the petrol .allocation, which comes into force to-day, and urging that, in view of the promise by the Hon. W. Nash of assistance to the motor trade another effort be now made to secure an additional penny a gallon profit for the resellers.’’ Members protested that the additional cut would affect some of them seriously.
