RATIONING IN UNITED STATES. STATIONS TO CLOSE AT NIGHT. (Rec. 11.10.) WASHINGTON. Tidy 31. The Secretary of the Interior (Mr Tckes), declaring that voluntary rationing jias been unsuccessful, asked the oil industry, in order to avoid more serious rationing of gasoline, to close 100 000 service stations in the Eastern States from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., effective ps from, next Sunday.
