NAZIS READY FOR “DIVERSION” 1,000,600 SOLDIERS MENTIONED. WASHINGTON, July 29. Mr Martin Dies, chairman of the Unitea States House of Representatives’ Committee on Un-American Acuities, said Germany has 1,000,000 soldiers ,in South America organised into companies and battalions awaits ing the psychological moment to produce a diversion to prevent the United States aiding Britain. Mr Dies said reports from Berlin that his committee was responsible for the Argentine seizing German diplomatic pouches was partly true, as he had personally warned the Argentine two years ago .against infiltration. A message from Buenos Aires says that following a sharp protest from Berlin, the Congressional Committee investigating anti-Argentine activities, has decided to surrender a portable radip'transmitter weighing 5001bs, consigned to the German Embassy, and other confiscated property, including documents in code, photographs, motion picture films and other propaganda elements.
The Germans complained of a violation of diplomatic immunity and a breach of international law.
