The Associated Press states that the Iranian Government is reported to have informed the British Minister at Teheran, that- no German technicians could be expelled without seriously affecting Iran’s neutrality and normal relations with Germany. High officials arc reported to have expressed an understanding of the British view that German activities are a source of danger to Iran, hut they declined punitive action against German nationals because it would infringe Iran’s sovereignty, in addition to involving Gorman retaliation. However the (Government assured the British Minister and precautionary stops had been taken, including the appointment of commissions to operate radio stations which two German exports are running. The Germans are expected to leave Iran after being relieved of their duties. Unofficia 1 reports from Iran indicate that the, Germans might snonsor a coup d’etat and instal pro-Germans in power. A strong German sentiment is believed to have developed in Army circled.
