I PLANNED IN AUSTRALIA. SUPPLY OF FOOD FOR BRITAIN. (Rec. 12.20) SYDNEY, This Day. New secondary industries are planned to enable Australia to supply Britain with canned meat, sausages, bacon, meat concentrates and dried eggs. Announcing this, the Minister lor Commerce (Sir Earle Page) said that these industries would help to dispose of primary products which were hanking np in Australia because of the shortage pf shipping. Australia’s wartime agrifcultural policy had been formulated in ponsultation with other Empire conntries, particularly New Zealand. Its objectives were to provide the maximum aid for Britain on the vital food front and to guarantee the security and stability of Australian primary industries so "that their productive capacity could be maintained.
