NEW AGREEMENT
FRANCE AND AXIS POWERS,
ITALIAN TITLE TO COLONIES FULL CO-OPERATION WITH GERMANY. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Rec. 12.10 p.m.) LONDON, May 10.
“The Daily Express” says a joint French and German announcement is expected in a few days as tho result of the latest talks between Admiral Darlan (French Vice-Premier) ’ and the Axis loaders. This, however, is likely to cover only the more innocuous parts of any new agreement. Full accord is reported to have boon reached on the following terms.
Firstly Mussolini to abandon bis claims to Nice and Savoy. Secondly, Hitler in return to present Croatia to Mussolini. Thirdly Admiral Darlan to admit Mussolini’s title to the French, colonics of Tunis and Corsica. Fourthly, Admiral Darlan to collaborate fully with Germany. French and German collaboration, which has already been exposed in Syria, will be extended as circumstances dictate.
