PARTICIPATION IN THE WAR.
JAPANESE VIEW OF AMERICA.
(Roc. 9.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, May 19. A correspondent of the , Associated Press of America, in a message from Toki.l, states that the Japanese press to-day declared that the United States’ participation in the war was only a matter of time. The general comment was that Japan must abide by her obligations should occasion arise. The “Ivokumio” said that* Japan’s attitude was very simple. All depended on what America was going to do, regardless of Japan’s possible declaration of war.” .It is quite natural-that Japan should extend every material aid to the Axis. Whether war is declared or not is a secondary matter,’’ said the newspaper.
