SUNDAY PARADES.

ACTIVITIES OF HOME GUARD.

, METHODIST CHURCH PROTEST. A protest against the action of the local authorities of the Home Guard in holding so many of its parade on Sundays was entered at the quarterly meeting of the Raring Square Circuit of the Methodist Church, held at Wakanui last evening. The question was discussed when a letter was received from the Bible Class leaders on the subject of Home Guard parades on Sundays.

It was stated as the opinion of the meeting that while the members held admiration for. the spirit and enthusiasm shown by the Home Guard, it was regretted that in these days of short hours of labour it had been deemed necessary at this stage to use Sundays in this way, and the hope Was expressed that even yet it might be found possible to arrange other times for the necessary training.
