“There are places in the country where apples could almost ho- thrown from the orchards into the schools,” said Mr W. I. Bowyer during a. discussion of the apple supply scheme for schools at a-meeting of the Auckland Education Board. Instead of direct supply, he added, apples wcjfe brought from commercial orchards to the city and then sent out again. With the present shortage of trucks, this seemed an unnecessary duplication.
