FIELD MANOEUVRES.
TOTAL OF 2500 TERRITORIALS. 'SPECIAL TRAINS ON SUNDAY. The field training that is to be carried out around Ashburton during next week and in the first three days of the following week by Territorials who have completed two months of their three months’ training at Wingatui and Burnham Camps, is to- be on a larger scale thau was at first stated. It is understood that the Territorials will* arrive in Ashburton on Sunday, three trains coming from the south and one from the north, and the number of men who will be engaged will be, about 2500. They will bivouac at the racecourse and most of the time between Sunday and March 20 will be taken up withheld exercises in the country areas.
The headquarters will be in the Ashburton Domain pavilion, where about GO men will be camped. The advance parties will arrive to-morrow.
