NEW CHIEF ENGINEER.
WELLINGTON, This Day. The Minister of Public Works (the Hon H. T. Armstrong) has announced the appointment of Mr W. L- Newnham as Engineer-ihrCHief and Undersecretary to the Public Works Department oh the retirement of Mr John Wood at the end of the month. Mr Newnham joined the Public Service in 1906 and has been Assistant Engineer-in-Chief and deputy head of the Department since last November.
