BIVOUAC PLANNED.
ASHBURTON MOUNTED RIFLES
TRAINING DURING WEEK-END. B Squadron, Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry (Ashburton Mounted Rifles) will hold a bivouac at tine Ashburton Drill Hall next Saturday and Sunday. Major Gordbn Brown will be in command and Captain P. M. Harper second in command. Adjutant-Lieuten-ant A. J. D. Morten will visit Ashburton for the bivouac.
The training planned for Saturday is musketry, troop drill and bayonet fighting, while the programme fo,v Sunday is a church parade and' fieldcraft. During the week-end the squadron will complete arrangements for having horses offered inspected by a Government veterinarian. The inspection should take place within' a fortnight. To date about 100 offers of horses have been received.
