The Canberra correspondent of the “Sydney Morning Herald” says that if the Federal'Ministry is defeated on Labour’s amendment- to the Budget, fresh moves Avill probably be made to form a National Government.

Several members of the. United Australia Party made it clear that they would support any leader Avho made a. genuine attempt to l form the strongest possible all-party Cabinet. A last-minute concession by one side or the other, hoAvever, may still save the Menzies’ Ministry. Labour members are confident that tine Government will reach a compromise!. Another possibility of the Government being defeated is a sudden general election, and th officers of the official Labour Party have been instructed to prepare for it Avithout delay.
