HARD WORK NEEDED.

THE FUTURE OF NEW ZEALAND.

MR HOLLAND’S CONFIDENCE.

(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day,

Confidence in the future of New Zealand was expressed by Mr iS. G. Holland (Leader of the Opposition) at a reception given to him last night by the Dominion Council of the National Party. He said that this was the Dominion’s great opportunity. All class barriers were being broken down by the war, men mixing together on the same ships, in-the same hutments and in the same battles, with the result that those on the lower rungs of the ladder would be able to look forward to the future with greater confidence than they ever could before. It meant that new standards -would he established throughout the community. He was cinvinced that so far they had not so much as scratched the surface of New Zealand’s productive capacity. Now Zealand would have to acquire the art of hard work.
