TOWN HALL AT LEICESTER.
CONVENT NEAR LONDON

It can now be stated that the Savoy and Carlton hotels are. among the buildings in London damaged by recent air raids. The Town Hall at Leicester also suffered damage, and the convent of the Sacred Heart, Roehampton, near London, must be added to the long list of religious and educational premises bombed.—British Official Wireless.
Two bombs struck the Savoy, dam* aging front and back rooms. A few guests and a member of the staff were injured. The Carlton was more seriously damaged, resulting in the temporary closing of the residential portion. A bomb pierced the roof and the lights went out. Guests in pyjamas helped to carry injured people to ambulances.
