TIME EXTENDED.
PATRIOTIC ART UNION. FURTHER, MONTH ALLOWED. Because the original time allowed for the sale of tickets in the Ashburton Patriotic Committee’s art union was found to be insufficient, application was made for an extension of the time, and advice was received 1 at a meeting of the executive last evening to the effect that the request had been granted by the Minister of Internal Affairs. The sale of tickets was to have closed next Monday and the drawing was set for Wednesday. The new closing date is January 6 and the mew date for the drawing is January 8. Reports from sub-committees which are arranging 'for the several sections of the street fair tp< be held in Eiast Street next week were received and good progress was shown.
