REMEDIAL TREATMENT
MEN TEMPORARILY UNFIT. ARMY DEPARTMENT’S DECISION. (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, November 26. Remedial treatment at the expense of the Government will be provided for certain! men who have been classed as temporarily unfit for active service overseas, according toji letter Lorn the Director-General of -Health (Dr. M. H. Watt) received by the Auckland Hospital Board. This will not apply to men who have been classed as temporarily unfit for the Territorial Force. Dr. Watt stated that he had been advised of this decision by the Army Department. On receiving notice from the me.dical superintendent in his daily report that a recruit was to be discharged from hospital or that his treatment would be completed arrangements would he made for his examination by a medical board before his discharge or immediately on completion of treatment. The letter added 1 that approval had been obtained for outpatient treatment for sick and wounded iiersonmel of the Royal New Zealand Air Force and the New Zealand (Division of the Royal Navy at two-thirds of the usual charges of the boards concerned. Payments made by the Government under these arrangnvents are to be accepted by the boards in full satisfaction of their charges.
