WORKERS’ STAKE IN WAR.
A trade union indictment of Nazi tyranny has just been circulating among the British unions by Mr John Marchbank, the railwaymen’s leader. Describing the struggle as “a peoples war,” Mr Marclibank says: “If there were ever any doubt about it the tragic events of the last months have brought tlie truth home to working people. Nad. tyranny extends to the inner life of thj people. It sows suspicion, fear and hate in the very bosom of tlie family. The authority of the State, of: the Nazi party or the ruling clique amongst its leaders is absolute. It is our war 'oecause the working people have flui-.g their energies into the work of equipping the fighting forces, have surrendered for the time being vital safer guards of normal industrial life so that the war trades shall be kept in cont’.nnous production. It is our war, the people’s war, because it- will decide whether we are to live under Governments of our own choosing or be dclivered, bound hand and foot, to tyrannical rulers who know no law except their own cruel caprices,”
