AMERICAN EVACUEES.

DEPARTURE FROM MANILA. (United Press Association—Copyright ) (Received This Day, 9.15 a.m.) MANILA, November 25. The United States steamer President Washington sailed for Honolulu with 440 evacuees from Shanghai, and 618 from Manila. She also carried about 50/ United States sailors and marines.

A previous report was that naval men revealed that 70 United States naval ratings and marines are boarding the steamer Washington to accompany evacuees to the United • States because of reported labour difficulties aboard as a result of agitation between West and East Coast ■ organisers. A. message from Washington reports that officials of the Navy said .that 50 sailors and marines whose enlistments expire soon are merely returning home in the Washington. They had no knowledge of friction among the crew.
