TRAP SHOOTING.
.METHVEN GUN CLUB. Cold 1 showers and overcast conditions prevailed on Saturday afternoon when the Methven Gun Club held a special complimentary shoot to its president, Private \V. Si. Holland, who is now on leave from camp. There was an excellent muster of shooters and a programme of five shoots' were put on. The principal trophy shoot was that which the club’s beam won as third in the O. A. Company’s teams’ match recently held at Rangiora among Canterbury clubs. The match was a 15-bird one on the first-track system. The trophy (a set of stainless calvers) was won by Holland with the only possible, and as he was a member of the team his win was deservedly popular. In another trophy match of 10 birds for a trophy presented by Mi* A. McLeod L. O. Anderson was the winner in a slioot-off of nine birdjs from W. JRobertson, who took a second trophy donated by the president. S. !H. Anderson was third. Details are:—
5-Bird Sweepstake (5 track) —A. McLeod, H. Cromie and J. T. Corbitt,, who broke the possible, divided the money. Team Trophy Match (15 clays, 5 track)—W. M. Holland 15, T. S. Harrison, W. J. Robertson, A. McLeod, and- H. Cromie broke 14, Corbitt, , N. B. Morrow 13 and L. C. Anderson 12. 10-Bird Match—L. C. Anderson 10, W. J. Robertson 10 (second trophy), S., H. Anderson 10 third. These two divided first and second in the sweepstake. Harrison, H. Cromie, W. M. Holland, nine breaks, divided! third money. Sweepstake Match, 10 Birds—McLeod and Cromie, 10 breaks, divided the first and second money; L. C. Anderson, IV. J. Robertson,, H. Oromio and S. H. Anderson, 9 breaks, dividjed third money. First Miss Out—First and second money was divided between H. Cromie and N. B. Morrow, with 10 breaks; S. H. Anderson took third money with 9 on.
