HALLOWE’EN PARTY.
MANY CHILDREN ENTERTAINED. ’Well over ICO children were entertained at a hallowo’en party conducted by the Council of the Ashburton Scottish Society last evening. The first* portion of the programme was exclusively for children and those present entered enthusiastically into tho spirit of the gathering. Competitions were organised and the children wore supplied with sweets, ice cream, fruit and soft drinks. A number of parents were present as spectators. After supper had been served to the children there was a dance for adults. Mrs Mitchell’s orchestra supplied the music and tho masters of ceremonies were Councillors W. Tate and G. Chilton and Mr T. McGregor.
