COLDSTREAM BAND.
FIRST YEAR OF SERVICE. To celebrate its first year the Coldstream Harmonica Band held, a birthday party in the Wha-re. Dances and games wens enjoyed 1 , the children being especially catered for in This respect. After supper the candle oil the- birthday cake was lit by Mr ID I . Smith (Band Leader) and the cake was cut by Mrs Smith. Mr E. S. Baines, on behalf of the district, thanked Mr Smith for the interest he had taken in the children and -also mentioned the good w-o-rk his hand was doing in, helping at- patriotic functions.
On behalf of the hand Mr Smith made a- small presentation! to- Mi'ss Theresa. McKay who has been, pianist to- the hand, tie also said that they were very fortunate in the help Miss Joyce McKenzie was to them and especially t-o : him as loader. Musical honours wens accorded the hand, and Mr Smith and Mrs McKay who made and presented the birthday cake.
