WON RACE.
AFTER BEING BOMBED. (Received This Day, 12.2 p.m.) LONDON, October 30. Gordon Richards won first place in the Cesarewitch at Newmarket, riding the French-bred Hunters’ Moon IV. Richards narrowly escaped a. German bomber while going to the races with three friends. The enemy dropped a bomb, then machine-gunned the group. Bullets just missed Riehards> who jumped into a ditch.
