BIG SLIP AT HOLLYFORD.

Through being prevented from returning to the city by an extensive slip i:n the Hollyford Valley, 27 Invercargill residents had a much longer week-iend holiday than they anticipated. They left by bus for the Homer Tunnel on Saturday and did not arrive back till 5.30 p.m. to-day. Another pryty of five wild travelled by taxi reached Invercargill in the early hours. Over six inches of raiiv fell at the tunnel on Sunday. Snow fell all day on Monday and the party filled in time ski-tug. A party >of 17 who set out for 'Doubtful Sound at the week-end upturned to Mossburn last night.
