TO STAND TRIAL.
CHARGE AGAINST MOTORIST

Alan Thomas Cormack, commercial traveller, of Greymouth, was charged in the Magistrate’s Court to-day with negligently driving a car on the West-port-Karamea main highway so as to cause the death of Patricia Helen Murphy, aged 19, on October 15. Accused pleaded not guilty and reserved his defence.
The Magistrate (Mr G. G. Chisholm) committed the accused to the Greymouth Supreme Court for trial. At the coronial inquiry, heard in conjunction with the Court, the Coroner (Mr G. Taylor) found that death was due to shock and injuries as the result of an accident.
