EMPIRE TITLE BOUT. CHRISTCHURCH, October 16. The professional wiiestling match between Earl McCready and John Katan ended! in a draw with each apparently too groggy in the eighth round, after several minutes of elbow jolting to gain a, decision. McOready thus retains Jiis British Empire title. Katan attacked throughout the first six rounds, which lacked both the clowning and showmanship of many matches, while M'cQready spent most of the time getting out of trouble. Both seventh and teighth rounds were mainly confined to- jolting and punching, ending with both men falling out of the ring at the end of the eighth. There were no falls. .• ■
