Major M. Marshall, of Christchurch, addressed the Ashburton Salvation Army Home League yesterday afternoon on the subject “Garments.” In the evening Major Marshall, who is Young People’s Divisional Secretary, addressed the local Tbrchbearers.

Before leaving Ashburton, Mr C. Ives, who has beien manager of the Ashburton branch of R. Hannah and Co., and has been transferred to the Christchurch office, was given a presentation by the Advance Ashburton) Association. The president (Mr M. J. Burgess) handed Mr Ivies a fountain pen and in doing so referred in highly appreciative terms to Mr Ives’ work for the Association. Messrs W. S. Kerr and F. K. Cooper also spoke.
