WAIPAWA SEAT.
NATIONAL CANDIDATE SELECTED (Per'Press Association HASTINGS', October 15. The Waipawa electorate selection committee of tire New Zealand National Party to-night nominated Mr C. G. E. Barker as the candidate to contest the Waipawa seat made vacant by the death of Mr A. E. Jull. Six nominees were considered, each addressing the delegates for 10 minutes. Intense interest was taken in the selection, the theatre being packed with party members, from all parts of Hawke’s Bay. Mr Harker is a wellknown barrister and a former Mayor of Waipawa. •
