CRICKET.
THE COUNTY ASSOCIATION. MATCH ON LABOUR DAY. A senior cricket match will be played between Ashburton and Canterbury at Ashburton on Labour Day. This decision was reached at a meeting of the management committee of the Ashburton County Association last, evening. The president (Mr R. H. Biggar) presided:
An invitation to play a senior game on Labour Day was received from the Christchurch City and Suburban Association.
Tlie secretary was instructed to write stating that it was not possible to jiby on this date, but that the Association was agreeable that the match ho played at Christchurch on the King’s" Birthday holiday, Monday, November 25.
The president announced that Mr G. V. Furbv had consented to take over the secretaryship, and extended a welcome to him.
